As Ian would say, "It's icky but it's sooooo! yummy." (Pronunciation marks are tricky when recording Ian speak) :-)
What he means of course is that it's not so pretty but it's surprisingly tasty.
This was the end product but mostly gone by this point.
Originally after i stirred all the ingredients together, i'd put it in the fridge for a while for easier handling, then form them into balls, then freeze them for easy bite sized save for later snacks. Sometimes you need something more immediate than that so we started just eating it out of the bowl while i tried to quickly form very small balls for O so it wouldn't be a complete mess. Then we started eating it with a spoon. Then i got smart and realized i could have an easier time stirring by just dumping all ingredients into a bag and mushing it to death. Then the lightbulb went off and i said, hey! this looks like a bag of cereal. Two seconds later, poured into bowls with milk, except for oldest who doesn't do milk, and bellies were full for hours. I love happy endings.
I am a stranger who has had the pleasure of reading your family's adventures. Please check your flickr account for a message about how I found you and how you can help my family with some information based on your "Little Soldier" post. Thank you.
